Dorothy L. Preston
Assistant Supervisor Dorothy L. Preston was born in Walthall County and is the youngest of ten (10) children born to the late Isreal and Annie Washington. She has been married to Bishop Designate Kenneth E. Preston for over four-five (45) years and is the mother of three daughters (Tamara, India and Kendra) with two granddaughters (Asia and Layla) and one deceased grandson (Kendrick).
She became a Pastor’s wife at the age of nineteen, while a Senior in College, now serving in that capacity for over forty-four (44) years. She is currently the First Lady of Miracle Temple Evangelistic COGIC, a church founded by her husband in 1987.
After graduating from College, she worked for First Mississippi Bank for approximately two years. She left to work for the State of Mississippi Narcotic Bureau. Missionary Preston is a retired State of MS employee, serving for thirty-three (33). She, also, retired from MINACT Logistical Services, LLC at Nissan North America (Canton, Mississippi location) after seven (7) years of service. During her many years of public work, she served as a banker, Lead Accountant, Managing Consultant, as well as a Financial Analyst.
In October 2005, Missionary Preston was appointed as District Missionary of the Jackson District, working with the District Superintendent, Dr. Jesse Kelly, and serving in that capacity for over fifteen years. Msn. Preston currently serves as the Assistant Supervisor of MS Southern Second Jurisdiction, working with the Jurisdictional Supervisor, Mother Mary Ella Eaton.
She is a graduate of Jackson State University (1977). She is, also, a graduate of the C. H. Mason Jurisdictional Institute. She is an entrepreneur, a Certified Public Manager, and a Mississippi Notary.
Missionary Preston is Founder and Owner of Prestod Consultant Services, started in 1999 and co-owned by her husband, Bishop-Designate Kenneth Preston. The Company has a 100% approval ratio (to date) in developing financial packages helping churches to secure funding for building and/or renovation projects. This partnership has allowed them to be a blessing to many other religious organizations.
She has a firm belief in the scripture: Ecclesiastes 9:10 – Whatsoever thy hands findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in the grave, wither thou goest.
