Kenneth E. Preston
But the Lord said unto him, go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me (Acts 9:15). For many are called; but few are chosen (Matthew 20:16).
Born the fourth son of Mr. And Mrs. Albert Preston, Sr., Bishop Kenneth E. Preston was called to the ministry at the early age of sixteen (16). He was saved under the ministry of the Late Bishop J. D. Husband and his Pastor, the late Bishop J. E. Eaton. At the age of nineteen, he was ordained and sent to Pastor his first church in Edwards, Mississippi by the Late Bishop Theo Davis in August, 1976, the youngest Elder to be ordained at that time.
For the past forty-seven (47) years, he has been married to Assistant Supervisor Dorothy L. Preston. He is father of three (3) daughters with two (2) granddaughters and one (1) deceased grandson.
Bishop Preston is a graduate of Jackson State University, receiving his BS Degree in Finance & Banking - 1977. He is a graduate of the C. H. Mason System of Bible Colleges -1977. He is, also, a graduate of the American Institute of Banking (AIB).
He was the Owner/Executive Director of the MTEC Child Care Services, Inc. in South Jackson for over thirty-three (33) years. He, previously, served as an Administrative Assistance to the late Bishop A. V. Jordan; served as his Personal Secretary for over fifteen (15) years, and as Jurisdictional Financial Secretary.
Bishop Preston has served as Pastor for five previous churches. He is currently the Pastor/Founder of the Miracle Temple Evangelistic Church of God in Christ, in Jackson, Mississippi, celebrating over thirty-four (34) years of Ministry.
Bishop Preston has, also, previously served as Executive Secretary of the Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern Mississippi under the Late Bishop Elson McDowell, and has worked with the General Secretary Board of the International Churches of God in Christ. For many years, he traveled and worked with the late Bishop J. D. Husband as part of the National Evangelistic Team.
In March 2021, after the demise of Bishop A. V. Jordan, Pastor Preston was elected to serve as the next Jurisdictional Bishop of MS Southern Second Jurisdiction. He was ratified in April and consecrated in November 2021. He now serves as the Jurisdictional Prelate of MS Southern Second Jurisdiction
He has a tremendous love for the Church and has devoted his life to the Church, the work of God and God’s people. His Motto: 1 Corinthians 11:1 – “Be ye followers of me as I, also, am of Christ”. His Word to God’s People: DON’T STOP, STAY FOCUSED, DRIVE AND GO FORWARD. He is living proof that if you do this, you will find out what God has in store for you.
