Eld. Kenneth E. Preston
But the Lord said unto him, go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me (Acts 9:15). For many are called; but few are chosen (Matthew 20:16).
Pastor Kenneth E. Preston was called to the ministry at the early age of sixteen (16). At the age of nineteen, he was sent to Pastor his first church in Edwards, Mississippi by the Late Bishop Theo Davis in August, 1976.
On July 31, 1976, he married the former Dorothy L. Washington. He is father of three (3) lovely daughters, two granddaughters, and one deceased grandson.
Pastor Preston is a graduate of Jackson State University, receiving his BS Degree in Finance & Accounting and the C. H. Mason System of Bible Colleges. Upon completing his BS Degree in 1977, Elder Preston was employed by J. C. Penny, Inc. as a Manager Trainee. He later served as Supervisor of the Accounts Payable Division of Deposit Guaranty National Bank (AmSouth). In 1980, he gave up his public employment to devote full time to the ministry. From that point until now, the Lord has tremendously blessed him.
He was the Owner and Executive Director of the MTEC Child Care Services, Inc. A subsidiary, the MTEC Child Care Center, was originally opened in February 1988 and went on to serve the public for over 30 year until it’s closing in October 2018.
Pastor Preston has served in the following church capacities: (1) Financial Secretary for the Mississippi Southern First Jurisdiction under the leadership of the Late Bishop Theo Davis. (2) Executive Secretary of the MS Southern Second Jurisdiction under the Late Bishop Elson McDowell; and (3) Worked with the Late Bishop J. D. Husband as part of the National Evangelistic Team. He, currently, serves as Administrative Assistance to Bishop A. V. Jordan - Appointed in June 2009; and Financial Secretary – MS Southern Second Jurisdiction – Appointed in October 2010;
He previously served as the pastor of five (5) other churches: Bethel COGIC, Edwards, MS; St. Matthew COGIC, Baysprings, MS; McCann Temple COGIC, Hattiesburg, MS; Greater Collins COGIC, Collins, MS; and the Greater East Lampton COGIC, Columbia, MS. Pastor Preston now serves as Pastor of the Miracle Temple Evangelistic Church of God in Christ (MTEC) - established in August 1987.
Pastor Preston has a tremendous love for the Church and has devoted his life to the Church ministries and the total work of God. His motto is I Cor. 11:1 – “Be ye followers of me as I, also, am of Christ”.
Msn. Dorothy L. Preston
District Misionary Preston serves as the Assistant Supervisor to the Jurisdictional Supervisor, Mother Mary Eaton, in Mississippi Southern Second Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop A. V. Jordan. District Missionary Dorothy Preston, also, serves on the International District Missionary Unit Executive Board as Membership Secretary under the leadership of it’s current President, Dr. Noma Roberson.
For the past fourteen (14) years, she has served as District Missionary - Jackson District where Dr. Jesse Kelly is the District Superintendent. She is the First Lady of the Miracle Temple Evangelistic COGIC. She has been a Pastor’s wife for over forty-four (44) years, working with her husband and Pastor, Administrative Assistant Kenneth E. Preston.
On July 31, 1976, she was married Pastor Kenneth E. Preston. She is mother of three (3) lovely daughters, two granddaughters, and one deceased grandson.
She is a graduate of Jackson State University and the Mississippi Management Certification Program. She is a Certified Public Manager, an Entrepreneur (Prestod Consultant in 1999), and a Mississippi Notary. Pastor and Missionary Preston owned and operated MTEC Child Care Services, Inc. for over thirty (30) years until it’s closing in October 2018.
Missionary Preston is a retired State of Mississippi employee with thirty-three (33) years of service on December 2011. She, also, retired in January 2020 from MINACT Logistical Services, a contractor for Nissan North America in Canton, Mississippi, after seven (7) years of service.
Missionary Preston is a supporter and advocate for Susan Gateway Rescue Mission, Stew Pot Kitchen, American Heart Association, and St. Jude Children Research. She has a firm belief in the scripture: Ecclesiastes 9:10 – Whatsoever thy hands findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in the grave, wither thou goest. What a “Mighty God” we serve.
